After “a four-game sweep of the American League Championship Series”, the Kansas City Royals surprised everyone overnight by beating Baltimore Orioles in “a 2-1 victory”, advancing to the World Championship “after an absence of 29 years”, and “becoming the first team to start a postseason with eight victories in a row”.

I use quotation marks because, knowing nothing at all about baseball, I’m cribbing directly from the New York Times. Just like the rest of you, I’m only here for the footage below, which features Royals tragic Paul Rudd wearing a Royals t-shirt and a Royals cap, carrying a SECOND Royals cap, and celebrating harder than anybody.

Rudd, who has spent the 18 years since Clueluess forgetting how to age, spoke with an adorable, puppy-ish enthusiasm for his team. He was asked how he was celebrating tonight: “I’m gonna be partying AT MY MUM’S HOUSE! Party at my mum’s, man. She’s outta town, I got a keg, it’s gonna be sweet!”

As the host threw back to the newsreader, Rudd interjected again: “Five dollar cover!”

Another reason to move to the States.
