Pass It On: Watch This Photographer Pour Gallons Of Honey On Nude Models, Because Art
NSFW. But in an arty way.
Blake Little is an acclaimed LA-based photographer, who’s worked with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Fonda, Steve Carell and Kevin Spacey. His latest series, though, was for a book called Preservation; released last week, it features 68 photos of everyday folk, smothered in gallons of honey.
And it’s kind of incredible.
“I used an amazing amount of honey,” Little says. “They come in five-pound jugs that are a little more than a quarter, I think I used 900 of those.”
Which, in metric terms, is 4500 kilograms of honey. Or 9000 of these:
The video below is extremely nude, and very hypnotic. “When you cover someone in the honey, it has the effect of making them look like they’re in amber, that they’re preserved,” he says. “The honey has a way of democratising people; to transform them in kind of a universal way.”
