Pass It On: Serena Williams Has Re-Created Beyoncé’s ‘7/11’ Music Video, And It’s Surprisingly Great
"Smack it in the air" makes a lot more sense when you're a tennis star.
The latest edition of US Vogue features an interview with women’s tennis world champ Serena Williams and rightfully refers to her as a kind of royalty. “Queen Serena: the tennis ace of fitness, friendship and forgiveness,” the cover reads, pulling you in with its traditional puns and alliteration.
Now, the mag has taken things one step further and all-out compared her to Beyoncé. Williams has re-created Queen Bey’s iconic ‘7/11’ music video at an exclusive country club in Florida. The clip was posted on Vogue‘s Youtube channel overnight and it’s actually kind of amazing.
Beyoncé was basically just messing around at a slumber party; Williams is getting shit done.
