Louis Theroux has spent his career documenting some of the strangest people on the planet. He’s made film’s about survivalists, porn stars and American white supremacists, and just recently took on the Church of Scientology. The man likes to stir shit, is basically what I’m saying. So really, it’s only fitting that Theroux’s latest project will see him go after the biggest turd of all: US President Donald J. Trump.

Although it doesn’t have a name yet, word is that Theroux’s new three part doco has already been shot, and is set to air on the BBC later in the year. Speaking to The Mirror, Theroux said that documenting the President and the people who put him in power was an “amazing challenge”.

“It feels like a whole cultural, almost sea change in how the world is part of the post- Brexit wave of populism”, Theroux told the UK paper. “The story seems to change every day with Trump. There’s something new bubbling under. It’s hard to get your head around such a big subject”.

“The challenge with Trump would be… something so abhorrent that walks on two legs and is a human being, you have to explore where his foibles come from”.

“Hopefully people will like it”, he added. “It’s good”.

During his recent tour of Australia, Theroux also expressed an interest in making a film about the lives of Indigenous Australians. Maybe he can do that once Homeland Security revokes his US citizenship and prevents him from ever re-entering the US. We’ll take you Louis!
