Nick Offerman Reveals Who Ron Swanson Would Vote For In This Trainwreck Of An Election
How does Ron Swanson feel about Trump?
We already have a pretty good idea of how actor Nick Offerman feels about Donald Trump. He’s previously described the Republican candidate as “a grandpa who’s a racist”, and said that voting for Hillary Clinton was the only “logical or sane or moral choice”.
But what we didn’t know were the feelings of Offerman’s famous alter ego, Ron Ulysses Swanson. As it turns out, the Pawnee Parks Department Director isn’t much of a Trump fan either.

“I am frequently asked how Ron Swanson would weigh in on this election,” tweeted Offerman today, before saying that he had contacted “a source close to Ron” in order to find out.
“Ron wouldn’t think much of Trump. First of all, he’d be very sad that a businessman entered politics. Huge step backwards,” said Offerman. “Second, he went bankrupt 4-6 times, depending on who you believe. Ron does not like businessmen getting bailed out by taxpayers.”
“Third, Trump disrespects women. Ron likes women. Because they are human beings and deserve to be treated with basic dignity. Fourth, his boys are fatuous suck-ups with slick hair.”
Of course just because Swanson doesn’t like Trump doesn’t mean he’s offering a ringing endorsement to Clinton. “Ron would not like Hillary either,” said Offerman. “She is a career politician. Ron has no love of career politicians. But he would certainly vote Hillary over Trump, if he had to choose between the two. Or he would write in Merle Haggard or Willie Nelson.”

What’s a little surprising is that Swanson, a staunch libertarian, had no time for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. Offerman later tweeted that Johnson’s exclusion “was not an oversight,” which reads as pretty scathing to be honest.
