Here Are All The New Movie Clips That Dropped During The Super Bowl!

Watching ads has never been so good.

We’re now officially halfway through the 2016 Super Bowl and the Denver Broncos are beating the Caroline Panthers 13-7. Or, in terms that may be more relevant or relatable to you, the US has reached that point in the evening where the 40 giant balls of hulking muscle (who I assume all harbour secret feelings about high school graduation, Texas, and the limitations of their potential in a society which arbitrarily privileges physical prowess that will fade with age) decide they’ve smashed into each other’s bodies enough for awhile, and hand the field over to four forty-something British men, your 16-year-old sister’s fedora-wearing crush and the literal queen of the universe.

Leaving aside the strangeness of this whole thing for a moment — our sports finals are soundtracked exclusively by John Farnham, I’m not criticising anyone — this does make it the perfect opportunity to look back at what’s just happened in the spaces in-between. With an audience of millions, the Superbowl ad breaks traditionally deliver some of the nation’s most high-profile new movie trailers, clips and novelty spots — and this year is no disappointment.

Here’s what we’ve seen so far:

A First Look At Jason Bourne

As promised, after a nine-year break from the franchise, Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are back to make everyone try and forget about The Bourne Legacy. This first 30-second teaser reveals Matt Damon going full Fight Club on someone who may or may not be a neo-Nazi, getting in giant car wrecks for the sake of it and at one point very purposively karate chopping a chair. Welcome back, Matt!

Jason Bourne premieres in the US July 29.

Marvel Wants You To Pick Sides In Captain America: Civil War

This tense new 30-second teaser expands on the generally angsty vibes of the film’s first trailer released late last year. It also asks viewers to pick sides in the impending conflict between Captain America (#teamcap) and Iron Man (#teamironman) which, frankly, is ridiculous because Iron Man is one of the most dynamic and likeable superheroes to ever exist and Captain America is essentially an angry overgrown baby played by a guy whose other accomplishments include Not Another Teen Movie and joking about Black Widow being a slut. Downey Jr. all the way, mates.

Captain America: Civil War drops in the US May 6.

We Have Some More Info About 10 Cloverfield Lane

J.J. Abrams secret follow-up to 2008’s Cloverfield is looking interesting as hell. After a very mysterious trailer released last month we now have our first look at the world outside John Goodman’s spooky Kimmy Schmidt bunker and it does not look great for Mary Elizabeth Winstead. No, siree.

10 Cloverfield Lane is released in the US on March 11.

Deadpool Makes One Final Stab For Your Ticket Money

Between weird Australia Day messagesteasers, trailers, Valentine’s Day trolls, and billboards featuring poop emojis, you definitely know what you’re getting with Deadpool at this point. Hopefully the epic marketing campaign has won them enough in ticket sales to warrant the millions this largely same-y spot would have cost.

Deadpool will be in cinemas February 11.

Batman Is Now Doing Ads For Turkish Airlines

I don’t care how much free champagne you get, Ben Affleck, Gotham City is not a good holiday destination.

As part of a promotional deal with the film, Turkish Airlines have also released an accompanying ad for Metropolis starring Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther. I’ve never wanted to travel less.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be in cinemas March 25.

Paul Rudd’s Also Getting That Sweet Cash Money From Coke

I’m betting Ant Man v Hulk will be announced as the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 3… 2… 1.
