The New York Times has just published a series of photographs taken in the ’70s by Kenneth Siegel, courtesy of the Collection of New York Historical Society.

Most are wonderful photos of everyday passers-by at Times Square, but a few capture the original cast from Saturday Night Live walking around after filming. And they are great.

This one is of John Belushi hanging out with some friendly cops:

And this one is of a bunch of them — Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Laraine Newman, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris wand Bill Murray — eating souvlaki.

Apparently those table manners weren’t a huge stretch for Belushi when he was playing Jake Blues in The Blues Brothers.
