Honestly, the sequel to Mamma Mia! seems to be burdened with an over-abundance of fabulousness, with the highly anticipated musical featuring the likes of Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and as this trailer wonderfully proves, the one and only Cher.

The new trailer was released as a sneaky spot during Sundays Grammys, and the exciting new addition is some precious footage of Cher singing the 1976 classic, “Fernando” as part of the musicals all-ABBA soundtrack. It’s QUITE excellent, and highlights include her hair and general demeanour and her continued existence.

Just have a bloody watch of it, it’s perfect. This is also Cher’s first time on the big screen since 2010, so welcome back. Cher has been teasing her part in the film since October last year, dropping some heavy hints on her world-class Twitter account.

The trailer focuses on our main character Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), and the surprise arrival of her grandmother, Ruby Sheridan (Cher), on the Greek island where Meryl Streep has been running an inn.

As established with previous trailers, Sophie is pregnant, and we can strongly assume that this occurrence will lead to a massive upswing in outbreaks of group ABBA singalongs. Do you think everyone on the island finds it weird that they are singing and dancing all the time, or do you think there’s an as-of-yet unexplored backstory to the phenomenon, like a massive gas leak?

Cher is also rumoured to sing another ABBA song in the film, which is extremely exciting. Anyway, watch the wonderful trailer here, and hear the drums:
