With season five of Game of Thrones only a matter of days away, the hype is heading into overdrive. Whoever runs the show’s Facebook page is practically mashing the keyboard with excited flashback clips every couple of hours, and your favourite characters are regularly doing the rounds on the late-night circuit.

Now, Maisie Williams — the much-loved 17-year-old actress who plays the badass Arya Stark — has joined in on the hype, but it’s not quite what you’d expect. Instead of getting everyone jacked up over the new season premiere on April 12, she chose to get them angry about the UK elections on May 7.

Addressing the nation’s youth for Dazed and Confused, Williams whipped on some pearls and a blazer, then calmly announced that UK Prime Minister David Cameron, London Mayor Boris Johnson, Rupert Murdoch, Jeremy Clarkson, and Russell Brand were on her new “kill list”.

“I turned 18 on the 15th of April,” she said, staring straight into the camera like she’s auditioning for a UK re-make of Kill Bill. “That means I can vote in next month’s elections and so can 3.3 million of you. But you know what? I’m not going to tell you what to do.”

“People have been telling you what to do all your lives. They think you’re a self-obsessed, selfie-stick waving generation. They’ve counted on that. They’ve kicked your future in the teeth and hoped you wouldn’t notice.”

In the new issue of Dazed magazine, Williams elaborates on all this with a long interview which covers politics, gender, sexuality, and fame. Known for speaking out in the past about issues like animal rights and cyberbullying, she talks about what it means to be a young person heading in to a national election.

“I picked up my voice at a young age and I wanna use it,” she said. “People think we’re fucking stupid and we don’t know anything about anything. It’s really degrading. I get a lot of adults who are like, ‘You don’t know shit,’ and it’s like, ‘You don’t know shit. You have no idea what it’s like to be 17 years old’.”

Weirdly, this very serious interview with one of the show’s youngest cast members has also come out around the same time as a couple of funny Game Of Thrones animations jokingly aimed at a younger audience.

George RR Martin presented a PG re-make called ‘Lil Thrones’ on Conan overnight:

And this parody version of the viral ‘Dumb Ways To Die’ ad campaign is getting everyone excited on Youtube:

They’re both pretty good, but I don’t know if either can compete with Arya Stark calling Rupert Murdoch a creep and planning to assassinate Kanye West.

Season five of Game Of Thrones premieres on April 12.
