Lorde has taken some time out of her very busy touring schedule to share reworked versions of six tracks from her new album Melodrama.

She’s tackled a number of fan favourites in a video series for Vevo, reimagining ‘Supercut’, ‘Homemade Dynamite’, ‘Hard Feelings/Loveless’, ‘Writer In The Dark’, ‘Sober’ and ‘The Louvre.’ Beefed up with string sections, a capella groups, haunting choirs and massive tom drums, they sound worlds away from their original recordings.

“I’ve never really done anything like this before,” Lorde said in a clip introducing the series. “I don’t really do acoustic sessions or anything, but with this record, it had roots in acoustic instruments, in live musicianship. I think when you start to strip a song back, you really come back to this place of where you were building it.

“I really felt like the songs deserved to be pulled apart in a lot of ways. It makes a lot of sense to bring a song back to how we were writing and recording in the early stages.”
