Lonely Theresa May Has Become The World’s Saddest Political Meme
Hello darkness, my old friend.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May is being roasted on social media after a photo emerged of her sitting all by herself during the latest round of Brexit negotiations in Brussels.
May is currently negotiating the exact conditions of the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union. Word is the process isn’t exactly going smoothly, although it’s not as though May and her Tory colleagues have anyone to blame but themselves.
As the Brexit talks drag on, May has found herself the subject of increasing speculation, with some commentators suggesting a change of leadership is needed.
Given that, this photo of a lonely, despondent-looking May could hardly have arrived at a worse time.
You know things are going well in the Brexit negotiations when the strategy is please feel sorry for our lonely prime minister pic.twitter.com/AnP6sBKs8X

As a metaphor for Brexit, it doesn’t get much better.
Unsurprisingly, users on Twitter have been having a field day with the image.
