When Tash Sultana rocked up for her Like A Version debut in February armed with a guitar shop’s worth of pedals, we knew to expect something special.

The Melbourne favourite bravely took on MGMT’s 2007 track ‘Electric Feel’, turning the electro pop smash into a 9-minute dirge of distortion and grumbling vocals.

Turns out it was very special indeed: Sultana’s cover has just been named the most watched Like A Version of 2017 by triple j, who pulled the data from YouTube and Facebook video views.

Norwegian singer Aurora’s rendition of Massive Attack song ‘Teardrop’ and Haim’s Shania Twain cover ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ round out the top three, while the rest of the top ten sees entries from Ball Park Music (‘My Happiness’), Gang Of Youths (‘Blood’), and Gordi’s Linkin Park tribute ‘In The End’. All up, six out of the ten covers are from Aussie artists.

Revisit Sultana’s ‘Electric Feel below’, and check out the full top ten below.
