Let’s All Live Life With The Energy Of Leslie Jones Screaming At A Fashion Show

I may not know much about New York Fashion Week shows — and everything I do know has pretty much come from Sex and the City and famous people’s Instagram stories — but, on the surface, they’re not renowned for being the most lively or accessible of affairs. Even when they’re blasting techno and laser beams, it’s all stern faces and polite claps and silent judgements.

But now I see that’s this is a totally unfair characterisation, because I was yet to see a New York Fashion Week show with Leslie Jones.

The SNL comedian and all-round legend attended Christian Siriano’s Spring runway show over the weekend and made her feelings extremely well-known. As a line of amazing models debuted the new looks, Jones sat in the front row yelling “OH MY GOD”, “You’re beautiful girl, you know it”, “AHHH”, and “I love you” while leaning back and bracing herself against her friends’ thighs. This is the correct way to engage with fashion; everyone please amend your behaviour accordingly.

After the show, Jones even kept up the momentum on Twitter. She replied to model Coco Rocha’s post about the event in classic style.

Leslie Jones has become a bit of an icon for Extreme Appreciation Of Everything recently. This time last year she live-tweeted the Rio Olympics with such joy NBC flew her over and commissioned her for live coverage. Her love for Game of Thrones is just as entertaining. After live-tweeting each episode of the latest season, she very matter-of-factly told a member of the cast that she IS Game of Thrones.

With clips of the Siriano runway show now going viral, Jones has responded on Twitter calling herself “ghetto” and saying she probably acted like it was more of a sports game than a fashion show, but fuck it, if you love something why bother acting any other way?
