If The Powerpuff Girls were a trio of angsty, self-absorbed twenty-somethings living in New York City and fighting monsters in between going to “art things”, kids might not embrace them so much.

Conversely, if Hannah Horvath and crew could fly, that would make Girls awesome, and I would totally watch it all the time. Some of the jokes are a bit weird and male gaze-y, but the basic premise is solid, and Buttercup’s “I don’t even know” monologue is one for the ages.
