Lego Ralph is the saddest toy in all the world.

The Simpsons, a show which is still on TV even though no living human being has seen it since around 2004, is doing a very special Lego episode this May. Entitled ‘Brick Like Me’, it’s all about what happens when Homer tries to make his way back to the real world after waking up in an alternate reality version of Springfield where everything is made of Lego.

Anyway, that’s not important right now. Because overnight on their Facebook page, Lego announced that they will be releasing a set of minifigures to tie-in with the episode! There are 16 of them in total, and they come with a range of amazing accessories. Let’s take a look at these weirdly-proportioned little bastards, shall we?

Lego Ralph:

I’ll elbow children in the face if necessary to get my hands on Lego Ralph and his desperately sad ‘I Choo-Choo-Choose You’ Valentine’s Day card.

Lego Homer:

Lego Homer’s remote control is the size of his whole head, which is probably some kind of searing commentary on the way television dominates our pathetic lives.

Lego Maggie:

In that little blue onesie, Lego Maggie is easily the cutest one. She just needs a Lego Baby Gerald to be her nemesis.

Lego Mr Burns:

Kids, don’t play with radioactive plutonium rods, or you too will lose your lower jaw to an aggressive form of cancer like Lego Mr Burns.

Lego Marge:

Lego Marge is a pretty good likeness, but surely Donut Fancy magazine would be more up Homer’s alley?

Lego Grampa:

I’d say I reference ‘Old Man Yells At Cloud’ at least once a day on the internet, so Lego Grampa is another must-have.

Lego Bart:

Look, they’re highly stylised cartoon characters, so not everything is going to be to scale, okay?

Lego Apu:

Lego Apu is probably my favourite one. Imagine how cool he’d look in his own Lego Kwik-E-Mart.

The rest of the bunch:

The full set features Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Grampa, Flanders, Milhouse, Krusty, Mr Burns, Apu, Itchy, Scratchy, Nelson, Ralph and Chief Wiggum.

If you’re the kind of adult who collects children’s toys, you can buy them in May, and you can buy an elaborate Lego version of the Simpson family’s house right now. In the meantime, maybe you can have a bit of a think about your life and your choices.
