Remember when we thought LCD Soundsystem would never tour Australia again?

Yeah, nah. Today James Murphy and the gang have announced their biggest Australian tour yet, hitting large-scale venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane in February 2018. And they’ve recruited quite the opener — on support duties is Nick Murphy, the artist FKA Chet Faker.

The new Australian tour will fall less than a year after the band headlined this year’s Splendour in the Grass and played a pair of very much sold out sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

It will, however, be their first tour since the new album American Dream was released in September.

Prior to Splendour, LCD Soundsystem last toured Australia in 2010 after the release of This Is Happening. James Murphy retired the band the following year, going out with a bang with one “final” show at Madison Square Garden — before reuniting in 2016 to headline Coachella.

Frontier Members will be able to access LCD presale tickets from 3pm on Monday November 27, with general public tickets on sale from Thursday November 30.
