After five long years away, The Killers have returned with the brand new track called ‘The Man’, the first single to be taken off their upcoming fifth album, Wonderful Wonderful.

According to frontman Brandon Flowers himself, the track is “the funkiest song they’ve ever written”, which is a pretty bang on description. Wrap your ears around it below.

Wonderful Wonderful will be the first album from the band since 2012’s polarising Battle Born, and Flowers told BBC1’s Annie Mac that it’s going to push well beyond the boundaries of the usual Killers sound. We don’t have a release date yet, but we do know that it’s going to feature contributions from Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler, Brian Eno — and one Alex Cameron.

You might know Cameron as one third of Sydney electronic outfit Seekae, but he’s also an established artist in his own right. Last year he released his solo album Jumping The Shark, which Flowers loved so much he named it the record of the year.

So perhaps it’s unsurprising that Cameron was tapped to contribute to Wonderful Wonderful, but it’s still pretty bloody… wonderful.
