Kanye West Keeps Trolling James Corden By Ghosting On ‘Carpool Karaoke’

"He cancelled once as I was turning the corner to his house."

By now, almost every big name in music has made their appearance on ‘Carpool Karaoke’, James Corden’s long-standing late night segment where famous people join him in a car to belt out bangers on an imaginary commute. While Corden himself is pretty polarising, the segment has become a must on any album promo pit-stop.

And while there wasn’t much traditional about West’s recent spate of album releases, it seems even he has been tempted by Corden’s confounding ability to go viral. Turns out West has repeatedly agreed to go on ‘Carpool Karaoke’ before ghosting — assumedly because he will never be happier than that one time he and the Kardashians went on Family Feud.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden, West’s momager-in-law Kris Jenner cornered Corden in a game-segment called ‘Spill Your Guts Or Fill Your Guts’, asking why West hadn’t been invited to film a segment.

Corden, laughing it off and trying hard to appear extremely not mad, says it wasn’t for lack of trying.

“He’s cancelled twice, maybe even three times,” he told Jenner. “He cancelled once as I was turning the corner to his house. I was in a car, and by the time the call finished, I was sat outside his house, and they were like, ‘He’s not in the zone for it right now. We’ll do it another time.’”

Corden also made a very funny quip that the ghosting cost his show around US $45,000 ($60,720) in production costs, which is quite a specific number to share with the audience. He did say that he got a cube of flowers and a pair of Yeezys as an apology, at least.

“People were like, ‘Whoa, they’re so expensive.'”, said Corden. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, they cost my show $45,000.”

He did say he’d still try and book him again though, calling West the “absolute dream” guest.

Watch Corden pretend to be not mad in the segment below, around the one minute mark.
