Queens Of The Stone Age Performed Live On TV With An Orchestra And Holy Hell, It Works
Can we get a QOTSA acoustic album now?
Josh Homme might be extremely tall and sometimes very intimidating, but the man sure has the voice of a sweet baby angel.
California’s slickest rock dog busted out the pipes on Later… With Jools Holland yesterday for a rendition of ‘Villains of Circumstance’, the closing track from the new Queens of the Stone Age album Villains.
But he didn’t go it alone — joining Homme on stage was his QOTSA bandmate Dean Fertita and a seven-piece orchestra, who added strings and a little bit of drama to the track. It’s a curveball, but it bloody well works.
Queens of the Stone Age were last in the country to headline Splendour in the Grass in July. Villains dropped soon after in August — but not before three of the tracks from the album were accidentally pressed on a run of Gordi records and mailed out to puzzled fans.
Now, surely a Villains acoustic special edition is just around the corner?
