Internet Sleuths Have Totally Worked Out Who’s On The Laneway 2018 Line-Up
--
Last night, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival sent the internet into a tailspin by posting a very cryptic teaser that appeared to reveal the acts on their 2018 line-up.
The short and soundless vid featured nothing other than a series of letters dropping onto a pink background, prompting many punters to get their anagram on and assemble the letters into names of potential headliners.
See the teaser for yourself:
Lots of big names were thrown around, with Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator and Mac DeMarco quickly emerging as favourites.
Laneway confirmed one of those acts this morning, announcing that Mac DeMarco would indeed be headlining Laneway alongside Malibu mastermind Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.
But there are still plenty of names on the 2018 bill yet to be uncovered, and the internet hasn’t wasted any time trying to decode Laneway’s line-up.
In fact, we reckon a few people have already nailed it:

Some Other Definitely Likely Theories
But what kind of music publication would be be if we didn’t try and crack this thing ourselves? In service of the people, we’ve spent the better part of today trying to pull artist names out of Laneway’s alphabet soup. Here’s what we found:
– Frank Ocean
– Lana Del Rey
– Tyler, The Creator
– Vampire Weekend
– Desolate cats
– Decorate cats
– Eat cats
– Mandarins
– Horny toads
– Toes are pointy
– Fart lots
– Vases are lame
– Men are losers
– Face plant
– Sacred lemons
– Penis face
– Wart oven
– Teflon sock
– Warm rat
– Dick nose
– Ant parsley
…after a while, we discovered that this guy was probably right:
Very excited for people to start realising you can spell literally any artist name out of the letters in the Laneway teaser

The full line-up drops next month, so we’ll only have to wait a few more weeks to see whether Pitbull or Wart Oven will make an appearance. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
