Well, it looks like everyone’s getting real horny right around now, according to new data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today.

Or at least those of us who like to procreate are. The ABS has crunched the numbers on the past ten years of births in Australia, and they revealed that three of the five most common birthdays in the country all fall in September.

And what falls nine months before September? That’s right, the, uh, festive season.

The new data set actually reveals a bunch of interesting birthday stats. The most common birthday in the country is September 17, while the least common — excluding February 29, which only occurs in leap years — is Christmas Day.

In fact, all of the least common non-leap year birthdays are public holidays: Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and January 26, which ABS Director of Demography Beidar Cho said may be as a result of doctors trying not to schedule deliveries on public holidays.

Given that all these least common birthdays fall together at the end of the year, though, we’re gonna follow the ABC’s lead in declaring March Australia’s Least Sexy Month, or at least Australia’s Favourite Month To Use Contraception When Getting It On.

Anyway, the ABC has transformed the ABS’s boring numbers into beautiful interactive charts you can use to find out how popular your birthday is. You can peruse that data here — that is, if you’re not too busy enjoying the advent of horny season.
