"When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think to yourself 'oh maybe I should be more racist?'"

Taking a leaf out of President Obama’s book on how to appeal to millennials, Hillary Clinton made an appearance on Funny or Die’s Between Two Ferns, and it went…pretty much how you might expect it to.

Obama Totally Nailed ‘Between Two Ferns’

The democratic nominee played the interview relatively straight, responding to host Zach Galifianakis’ first question about whether she was excited to become “the first girl president” by telling him that “being the first woman elected president, and what that would mean for our country…that’s pretty special.”

“For our younger, younger generation, you will also become their first white president,” fired back the comedian. “And that’s pretty neat too.”

Several of the questions lampooned the subtle and not-so-subtle sexism that Clinton has faced on the campaign trail. “What happens if you become pregnant?” asked Galifianakis. “Do we get stuck with Tim Kaine for nine months?”

He also quizzed her on her secretarial skills, in reference to her time as Secretary of State, asking “how does President Obama like his coffee?”

“You know Zach, those are really out of date questions,” she replied. “You need to get out more.”

Naturally, they also spent a fair amount of time on her opponent. “When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think to yourself ‘oh maybe I should be more racist?'” asked Galifianakis.

Speaking later to The Wall Street Journal, the show’s producer and director Scott Aukerman said that the interview was “90 per cent improvised.” If nothing else, it probably explains how Galifianakis got away with his final dig: “this has been a lot of fun Mrs. Clinton, we should stay in touch. What’s the best way to reach you? Email?”

Aukerman also said viewers shouldn’t hold their breath over a future Trump appearance. “I just can’t imagine a situation in which that would ever even occur,” he said. “I just can’t see him subjecting himself to that.”
