It's called the 'House of Eternal Return', which sounds like a pretty good book title to be honest.

Since 2011, everyone has been mad at Game of Thrones (or A Song of Ice and Fire) author George R. R. Martin. They’re mad because for five long winters, fans have been waiting for him to finish the latest instalment in the series, The Winds of Winter, to no avail. Now that they don’t have any text to go off, the new season of Game of Thrones is going to deviate from the books for the first time, which has made the book’s release date even more pressing.

You’d imagine that right now George is hunkering down in his study, pouring himself a single malt, stoking the embers of a dying fire and getting ready to wrap up this bad boy, right? Wrong. Instead of finishing one of the most hotly-anticipated books of all time, George R. R. Martin has instead decided to help build a funhouse in Santa Fe.

Makes sense. Called the ‘House of Eternal Return’ (which is the most Game of Thrones-y thing I have ever heard) the funhouse is a huge industrial space run by an art collective called Meow Wolf, and is made up of creepy Victorian-era rooms, an enchanted forrest, prehistoric caves and life-size puzzles.

According to the website, the basic premise is: “something has happened inside a mysterious Victorian house that has dissolved the nature of time and space. Venture through the house of The Selig Family, and discover secret passageways into fantastic dimensions”.

Being a local lover of the strange and supernatural, George became a benefactor of the space. He explained to NPR: “They explained this vision of a Victorian house, unmoored in time and space with a haunted forest and a magical cave system, and portals to other worlds,” he says. “And of course, it pushed all my buttons. I love that kind of stuff.”

Okay, so this does look pretty cool. Now get back to the bloody book, George.
