The new iPhone 6s is out, and if the official sales figures are to be believed people are clambering over their own mothers to get a hold of one. Apple are claiming they’ve already sold more than 13 million of the little buggers, a solid percentage of which are undoubtedly insecure men terrified that owning a pink phone makes them gay.

But given iPhones have a pretty short battery life, the new model probably isn’t the best choice if you belong to a group that is disproportionately targeted for harassment, arbitrary arrest and assault by the police. Whether you’re a young gay guy at Mardi Gras, a brown person with a beard selected for a “random” airport security check by the Border Force, or a black person doing pretty much anything, having a phone that makes recording your interactions with police as easy as possible is probably a wise move.

That’s where the B-Mobile ONYX comes in. Chock full of handy features like a badge ID system, a ‘Call the Police on the Police’ app and a free ‘Not A Gun’ phone case, the ONYX is the must-have accessory for people who are treated as inherently suspect by the systems of law and order everyone else takes for granted.

The only thing it can’t do is unpick deeply entrenched racial and cultural biases within police forces or society at large, but hopefully that feature’s coming in the next update.
