“Unprecedented” Demand Caused A Foxtel Now Outage Right Before The Start Of ‘Game Of Thrones’
Here’s how you can catch up with the episode if you missed it.
Between Ned Stark, The Red Wedding and Cersei’s High Sparrow cookout, you’d think that Game of Thrones fans would be used to having the rug pulled out from under them.
But last night, Aussie viewers experienced the most shocking twist of all, when they attempted to access the season seven premiere on Foxtel Now and found that the service was unavailable.
Apparently, too many people decided to watch #GOT tonight, so Foxtel Now isn’t working pic.twitter.com/jfGochxdgF

“We are devastated that some customers experienced technical issues tonight,” said a Foxtel spokesperson overnight, who added that the system crashed due to “the unprecedented rush for a subscription just prior to the telecast.”
“We assure anyone impacted that they will be able to watch the first episode of Season 7 either On Demand or via one of our encore screenings throughout the week,” they said. “We will continue to communicate with affected customers to ensure they are fully informed.”
On the plus side, at least Foxtel Now users were spared having to sit through that terrible Ed Sheeran cameo.
There will be encore screenings of the Game of Thrones premiere on Foxtel today at 12pm and 9.15pm, on Wednesday at 1.20pm, on Thursday at 10.10pm, on Friday at 11.25am and on Saturday at 8.30pm.
