A brand new short film competition called Connect5 has just launched asking creative Australians to make an original five-minute film. The winners will take home a hefty $30,000USD (which is even more when you convert to dollarydoos!) and the chance to have their short viewed by millions Optus customers around the world.

The theme, set by the competition’s creators Optus, is ‘Connecting Lives’ and entries are now open HERE until September 30. All submissions made via the Connect5 website will be in with a chance of firstly winning one of two $5,000AUD prizes, followed by a place at the regional finals in Bangkok where you’ll go up against other Connect5 winners from Africa, India, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia.

Filmmakers’ five-minute video submissions will be judged on originality of content, storytelling and cinematography and the competition creators are encouraging everyone from professional filmmakers to everyday mobile users (so, basically every human living in 2016) to convey their own interpretation of ‘Connecting Lives’.
