It’s that time again: time to make sure you’re enrolled to vote, and that all your details are up to date.

Why now? A few reasons. One is that we’ve got a mega by-election coming up in Malcolm Turnbull’s former seat of Wentworth on October 20, just over a month away. If you live in the Sydney suburbs of Bondi, Paddington, Moore Park or the surrounding area, you’re likely eligible to vote in this one, as long as your details are up to date.

The Wentworth by-election has the potential to be pretty dramatic, too, because when Turnbull quit after the leadership spill the Liberal Party lost its one-seat majority in Parliament. If the Libs don’t win this seat back, they’ll lose that majority for good and we’ll have a hung parliament again. That’s a bad position for ScoMo’s government, and a great position if you’d like to get rid of ScoMo’s government.

And even if you don’t live in Wentworth, now’s still a great time to enrol to vote seeing as we have no idea what could happen in politics right now. There will definitely be a federal election in the next year, and there’s a good chance it could end up happening pretty soon. If you want a say in who’s running this country, it’s time to get enrolled.

How To Enrol To Vote

Good news — making sure you’re enrolled to vote is extremely easy and will take about five minutes of your time. Enrol HERE, update your details HERE, or grab a form from your local Australia Post. Easy.
