It was only a matter of time until the worlds of English comedian Eddie Izzard and Melbourne psych rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard collided — and friends, that time is now.

During an appearance on NPR’s weekly game show Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! to promote his new memoir — the wondrously titled Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death and Jazz Chickens — Izzard was put to the test with a string trivia questions about the Melbourne band.

Frequent listeners of the show will know they love a good bit of wordplay in their trivia: in the past NPR have quizzed Chance the Rapper on the proper uses of cling wrap, and they’ve also asked rap duo Run The Jewels “who runs the Jews”. So there was really only ever one subject Izzard was going to be questioned about.

“We couldn’t decide whether to ask you about gizzards, lizards, or wizards,” said host Peter Sagal by way of introduction. “But then we found out we could ask you about all three at once.”

After failing at the first two questions about King Gizz’s albums, Izzard finally got one in the bag about their eponymous festival Gizzfest.

“King Gizzard got so popular, they headlined their own music festival in Australia in 2015 called Gizzfest,” asked Sagal. “Which was one of the supporting acts? A — Dr. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, B — Dr. Piffle and the Burlap Band or C — West Thebarton Brothel Party?”

Izzard took a bold guess and answered D, all of the above — which was completely bang on. Listen to the full interview below (the King Gizz quiz starts at the 6-minute mark.)
