Drake is upset. He really is. We know Drake is upset because he’s just released a new single called ‘I’m Upset’.

In terms of Sad Drake memes, ‘I’m Upset’ is pretty damn classic. It sees Drake pine over a lost love: “Say she got some things she gotta come here and collect, that shit is in a box to the left, to the left.”

It’s textbook heartbreak Drake, although many people initially thought the track was another response to his beef with fellow rapper Pusha-T.

The two have been feuding for a long time now, but it kicked off again on Friday following the release of Pusha-T’s album Daytona, especially the closing track, ‘Infared’, which fired shots at Drake’s use of ghostwriters.

Drake responded (suspiciously quickly) with a fiery diss track of his own, called ‘Duppy Freestyle’, in which he blasted Pusha’s waning career (“I had a microphone of yours but then the signature faded/I think that pretty much resembles what has been happening lately”) and Daytona producer Kanye West (“I’ve done things for him I thought that he never would need/Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me/I pop style for 30 hours, then let him repeat.”)

The Kanye line was a reference to Drizzy helping Kanye out on The Life Of Pablo tracks ‘Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1′ and ’30 Hours’.

It gets better: Drake then sent an invoice to Kanye’s label G.O.O.D. Music asking for a cool $100,000, for “promotional assistance and career reviving.”

You’re welcome. ?

Regardless of timing or its name, ‘I’m Upset’ isn’t a follow-up diss track, but a scheduled release that apparently has nothing to do with Pusha-T. Pretty amazing that a beef turned up the day before it was released, and that Drake had a diss track ready to go just hours after ‘Infared’ dropped…what a totally wonderful PR-dreamy coincidence.

Regardless, ‘I’m Upset’ is here. Drake’s next full-length, Scorpiondrops on June 28.
