Donald Trump Announced That “Putin Is Not My Best Friend” If You Needed That Clarification

In the debate, Trump said that he has not met Putin nor are they best friends.

The third presidential debate is focusing on the actual policies of both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, topics that haven’t actually gotten a lot of play in the previous two debates. They delved into well-worn subjects (Hillary’s emails! Trump’s ‘respect’ for women! That goddamn wall!) but there was one thing that Donald Trump wanted to make absolutely crystal clear.

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are not best friends. They are not best friends.

People were flabbergasted about this. How could this be? If we can’t believe in the friendship between one Cheeto ‘millionaire’ and a questionable Russian politician who can’t keep his shirt on, what can we believe in? Also hey, didn’t Trump specifically tweet about wanting to be Putin’s best friend?

How did this strange and possibly insignificant detail come up? Well, early on in the debate the conversation turned to Wikileaks and Clinton’s claim that the Russian government has hacked Democratic organisations and has waged frequent cyberattacks on the US government. Trump doesn’t think this is true.

Clinton told him that that’s because Donald Trump is “Putin’s puppet” which caused Donald Trump to yell, “YOU ARE THE PUPPET!” which was a fantastic comeback. He also dismissed the claims on the grounds of Clinton’s feelings being hurt (or something) saying that, “She doesn’t like Putin because Putin has outsmarted her every step of the way”.

That is when Donald Trump committed a savage act. An act that one homie should never, ever commit against another homie. He didn’t just rely on his new standby claim of having never met Putin is his life. He specifically said that they were not best friends. One can only imagine the kind of bro-hurt Putin is experiencing right now.
