Doctor Doom And A Whole Lot Of Exposition Star In The New ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer
At least we have an idea of the plot now.
The first teaser for FOX’s upcoming Fantastic Four remake didn’t do a whole lot to dispel concerns from fans that the venture would be disappointingly bland, not least because it didn’t actually tell us anything. A new trailer that hopes to plug those gaps in fan expectation has just dropped, and we now have a pretty good idea of what ground FF is going to cover — Doctor Doom features briefly, hood and all, and The Thing looks adorably awful as usual.
The trailer also checks off more than a few boxes on your Gritty Superhero Reboot bingo card. Dramatic shots of New York? Check. The world needs saving from some vague evil in outer space? Check. An ageing scientist slash mentor slash father-figure whose vocal range never strays outside “gravel”? Check and check and check again.
Fantastic Four comes out on August 7.
