Please Enjoy Cate Blanchett And Sarah Paulson In This Delightfully Unhinged Interview
They left the interviewer in tears.
Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson have spent an entire six minute TV interview giggling and giving each other shit. And let me tell you, it is a goddamn delight.
The pair appeared together on US morning show Today to promote their new heist movie Ocean’s 8. But host Hoda Kotb barely had time to ask a question before the two actors starting roasting one another.
First, Blanchett made fun of Paulson’s outfit, telling her she needed to “get a stylist”.
“I borrowed it from your mother,” Paulson shot back.
Paulson then mocked Blanchett for failing to win an Oscar for her performance in Carol, to which Blanchett replied scornfully “don’t you work in television?”
“It’s the golden age of television!” Paulson protested.
Blanchett (two Oscars, but who’s counting?) went on to say that she tried to get out of filming Ocean’s 8 when she discovered she’d be working with Paulson.
“They wouldn’t let me, I was contracted” she said, pulling a face.
By this point, Kotb’s was crying with laughter.
“Your mascara is running,” said Blanchett. “It’s fine, someone will come and touch you up before you speak to some real actors.”
Regaining her composure, Kotb pointed out that the two seemed to be having a fun time promoting the film.
“Oh this is not going well at all,” said Paulson. “We’re not enjoying it.”
Honestly, if Ocean’s 8 is even half as entertaining as this, we’re in for a treat.
