Calling All Budding Writers And Videographers: We Want You!

Don't know how to get started? Help's here.

Want more Junkee in your life? Sign up to our newsletter, and follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook so you always know where to find us.

Are you itching to share your hot takes on pop culture, big issues, campus stuff, general goings-on and everything in between? Do you dream of one day becoming a Tina Fey-style sketch comic, or Louis Theroux-style video journalist?

Are you thinking: “Yep! But how on earth do I get started?” Well, we want to help you!

The best way to get a head start in any creative career is to have a bit of experience under your belt. Uni Junkee — formerly Hijacked — has a long and proud history of helping students and emerging talent to make their mark in media.

We’re looking for a bunch of budding writers and videographers to contribute to the site on a freelance basis. You can write articles for us, or film short videos to be put up on the site.

Not only will you get a sweet byline for your portfolio, you’ll get coached through the process and paid for your work.

Interested? Here’s how to get started:

  • Send an email to Uni Junkee Editor Josephine Parsons at [email protected] with the subject line, ‘I want to contribute for Uni Junkee’.
  • Include your name, a little about yourself, your experience so far (it’s fine if you have none), why you’d like to contribute and what you’d like to do.

We can’t wait to get it happening, fam. Stay woke.
