Order Up! A ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Movie Is Coming At Your Eyeballs

Well here is some genuinely great news for your morning! Fox has just announced that they’ve put in an order for 1 x Bob’s Burgers movie, and it’s coming at yer eyeballs and earballs in 2020. WHAT!? That is great news.

The series, created by Loren Bouchard and just beginning its eighth season on Fox in the US and has won Outstanding Animated Series at the Emmys the past two years running. It’s one of those shows that just never dips in quality, as New York Times critic Neil Genzlinger writes, “reliably good, visit after visit”. The series has long been a cult TV darling, well-loved by reviewers and the public alike for its zany good vibes and its hilarious original songs.

It’s also one of Junkee’s official Best Feel-Good TV Shows, because, come on, it’s gorgeous! I am extremely excited for a Bob’s Burgers movie, and I’m not the only one. The fans are well and truly ~going off~ at the news.

Creator Loren Bouchard had this to say about the news: “We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show.

“We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colours and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
