While it’s no Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert’s Late Show is proving to be decidedly more political than your typical late-night talk show. In his first few weeks behind the desk, Colbert’s interviewed everyone from Jeb Bush to Ban-Ki Moon, and The Late Show shaping up as one of the go-to places for surprisingly in-depth, informative interviews with the major players in the upcoming Presidential election.

Last night Colbert had former President Bill Clinton on, and besides spruiking Hillary’s appearance on SNL, he had some pretty interesting theories for why two relative outsiders, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, are proving to be so popular in the race’s early stages. He also revealed that, contrary to widely-reported rumours, he didn’t sneakily convince Trump to run for office, which is kind of a shame because that’s a great story.

Also, Billy Eichner was on! So Bill Clinton and Billy Eichner were in the same room for a bit, which is absolutely delightful.

Pray that Bill Clinton makes a cameo appearance on Billy On The Street one of these days. That would be amazing.
