Beyoncé’s history-making headlining performance at Coachella cannot be overhyped — it was perfect, it was pure, it was amazing. Luckily for us, we get to revisit the sheer wonderment and joy that we felt while watching it through this mum’s excellent text-message thread.

Twitter user @Natparkss has done us all a huge service and posted her mum’s live reactions to the concert, which were updated in a text message thread. It’s perfect for so many reasons — the unbridled enthusiasm, the furious pace of her response, the ability to watch the concert through somebody else’s eyes.

“Omg, I can’t settle down, I’m still thinking about Beyoncé.”

By the end, she gives such a thoughtful and thorough response to the entire event that it’s basically an essay you’d find in the New Yorker.  She touches on the the historic nature of the event, on the themes of empowerment and representation that Beyoncé touched upon in her performance.

“I was so proud of her for representing black women, and all women!”

But where it truly excels is just how much MUM comes through the messages.

“Her voice is amazing but her shorts are a little small,” she says. “I had to take a z-quill to attempt to go to sleep bc I don’t know what to do with myself.”
