The Best Signs From This Weekend’s Massive Anti-Trump Women’s Marches
Happy anniversary Donald!
The second year of Donald Trump’s presidency has begun much like his first: with hordes of people marching through the streets.
Thousands of people in cities across the United States have turned out for the second annual Women’s March, a reprise of the mass demonstrations that swept across the US after Trump’s inauguration.
Rallies in major cities including Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles have reportedly attracted hundreds of thousands of people opposed to Trump’s policies and calling for respect and equal rights for women. More than 250 rallies are expected to take place across the United States, as well as overseas.
“We will make our message heard at the polls this fall,” a rally organiser told the crowd in Washington. “That is why we are urging people to register to vote today.”
As with last year, many protesters wore knitted pink pussy hats and brandished elaborate signs and placards. And you know how much we love a good placard.
