People Used The First Bledisloe Cup Match As An Excuse To Roast Secret Kiwi Barnaby Joyce
That NZ citizenship doesn't look so bad now...
Last night was the first match of the Bledisloe Cup, the annual Rugby Union tournament between Australia and New Zealand. Unsurprisingly, Australia was thrashed.
At one point the All Blacks led 54-6, and while four late tries helped the Wallabies save some face, there’s no mistaking the game for anything other than a disaster.

So dispiriting was the game that Aussie punters were forced to turn to their second favourite pastime: mocking the shit out of politicians.
Specifically, people went after deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce, who we recently learnt may be ineligible to serve in parliament due to the fact that he’s an undercover Kiwi, and who everyone agreed must have been absolutely thrilled by what was going down on the pitch at ANZ stadium.
GO #WALLABIES !!!!! and good luck to your team too @Barnaby_Joyce .#AUSvNZL #BledisloeCup pic.twitter.com/5OEdNNLWAm

Barnaby was elected to the Australian Parliament in 2004 and we haven’t won the Bledisloe since. You do the math. #AUSvNZL

it’s my understanding all our best players were found constitutionally ineligible and that’s why the kiwis are smashing us #BledisloeCup

Admittedly, it’s pretty easy to mock Joyce. And that’s why we do it. But credit where credit’s due: at least his team won.
