Jason Bateman’s directorial debut Bad Words, which comes out on DVD on September 25, stars Bateman as a forty-year-old man who enters a spelling bee contest for children and swears a lot at them. It looks pretty great.

To celebrate, we’re teaming up with Universal Home Entertainment and the Word Travels Story Festival — an amazing-looking poetry slam, spoken word, story and lyric festival coming up this October — to throw cool words-related things at you until you beg us to stop.

The winner of the comp will get domestic flights and accommodation to attend Word Travels Festival in Sydney, training with an expert wordsmith, and the chance to perform at the National Poetry Slam – and all you have to do is write us a haiku telling us why we should pick you. Use your words! Use your craft.
