Americans Are Celebrating National Dog Day And It’s Better Than A Thousand Christmases

There’s a national day for almost everything; August is Golf Month, apparently, for all you people opposed to fun. But August 26, which we just missed, is by far the greatest Day of all — better than Christmas or Easter or even my birthday (February 10, possums, put it in your calendar), because August 26 is National Dog Day.

Started in 2004, National Dog Day aims to promote the ethical treatment and breeding of dogs, as well as let everyone take a moment to appreciate how good dogs are. How good? SO good. That’s why Twitter is overflowing with adorable pictures of dogs at the moment.
