The rise of Bernie Sanders to national prominence in American politics has seen a big spike in Google searches for “socialism,” “Jewish President” and “top 1 percent,” as well as a corresponding spike in comedians discovering their talents for impersonating an angry old man in a suit he found in a goodwill bin. Larry David’s Sanders impersonation has become legendary, leading to one of the best Saturday Night Live sketches in a long time, and up-and-coming comics like Comedy Bang! Bang!‘s James Adomian have made hay out of it too.

But for pure impressionist chops it’s hard to go past The Tonight Show‘s Jimmy Fallon, who’s been perfecting and expanding his repertoire of celebrity impersonations for most of his working life. Last night Fallon debuted his own Bernie Sanders, and the resemblance is pretty spot-on.
