Actor Robin Williams Has Been Found Dead
He was 63 years old.
Actor and iconic comedian Robin Williams has passed away.
In a statement released this morning Australian east coast time, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office in California announced that Williams was found dead at his home in Tiburon, north of San Francisco.
“The male subject, pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm has been identified as Robin McLaurin Williams, a 63 year old resident of unincorporated Tiburon, CA”, the statement reads.
While “an investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office”, the statement also said that “the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia”.
Williams checked into a Minnesota rehab facility in July to maintain his sobriety; Williams had previously admitted a long struggle with alcoholism.
Williams was 63.
