Daft Punk Reveal Collaborators, Give First Interview:

At Coachella over the weekend,  Daft Punk premiered an extended trailer to ‘Get Lucky’ on the main screen – the same one that aired on SNL the night before. But this time, following the promo, they revealed the full list of top-secret collaborators who’ve worked on their insanely hyped new record Random Access Memories, which comes out on Friday May 17.

Giorgio Moroder, Todd Edwards and Nile Rodgers had already been drip-fed to fans via The Creators Project, but you can now add these names to that list: Pharrell Williams, who features on ‘Get Lucky’, Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Panda Bear (Animal Collective), DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales and Paul Williams.

The pair also gave a very rare interview to Rolling Stone, revealing that the album is full of live instrumentation in place of usual electronics and drum machines (which only appear on two tracks), and apparently features no samples at all, except for a snippet of an “Australian rock record” on the closing track, ‘Contact’. Daft Punk “have no current plans to tour”, but they do have new outfits!

“Hopefully Anne Frank Would Have Been A Belieber”:

In the latest in a long and recent line of poorly-advised moves, 19-year-old Justin Bieber finally broke his silence about the Holocaust. He spent an hour and a half inside the Anne Frank House while on tour in Europe, hanging around the museum with his friends and security guards. Because the world is a playground and he is its centrepiece, he wrote in the museum’s guestbook, “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.” Hopefully.

Obviously, there is a whole lot of fun being had about this on the internet, but The Anne Frank House were conciliatory in their official statement: “He’s 19, it’s a strange life he’s living, it wasn’t very sensible but he didn’t mean bad…”

Over on the Anne Frank House’s Facebook page, his fans are defending him too:

New Frank Ocean Clip:

“Miami, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Spain, Los Angeles, India…” Frank Ocean’s ‘Lost’ kind of feels like it was written to soundtrack the tour diary of a hugely successful musician. So this film clip, directed by Francisco Soriano, makes a bunch of sense. (via Pitchfork)

Today, In Gentle Racism:

Before you watch this, it’s worth noting that Dana Perino is an extremely qualified political commentator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, with minors in both political science and Spanish, and a master’s degree in public affairs. Over her so-far expansive career in political communication, Perino served as press secretary for Representative Dan Schaefer, as spokesperson for the Department of Justice, and as the associate director of communications for the White House Council on Environmental Quality, before becoming the second female ever to serve as White House Press Secretary, working for George W. Bush’s administration between 2007-2009.

This is what Fox News have her doing these days.
