When you’re trapped in the unforgiving and soul crushing cycle of uni, the days and weeks seem to drag on forever.

But in times of stress and panic for the future, there is hope. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I’m talking about Rick and Morty. And who better to describe how you’re feeling than the smartest man in the universe and his loyal sidekick?

Monday

Your shrill alarm jolts you awake and you realise with a groan that it’s Monday again.

If you’re a student you’ve either got work, uni or some sort of assignment to do, meaning you have to get up at some sort of ungodly hour.

Whether you’re a morning person or not, nobody is a Monday person. With the whole week stretched out in front of you and Saturday’s party still playing in your head, you just want to scream.

Tuesday

You survived Monday and the weekend seems further away than ever. Your Friday pay check seems like it’s never going to come as you eat left over pasta for the third night in a row.

You’re stressing over all the things you need to accomplish by the end of the week and you’ve forgotten what it’s like to get a full eight hours of sleep. Surely there’s more to life than assignments, crippling debt and cold pasta? Nope. Probably not.

Wednesday

Hump day is finally here but it offers little relief. Why didn’t you just study last night instead of binge watching Downtown Abbey?

All this stress is making you stressed so you decide to treat yo’ self and start your assignments later. Go on, go buy that bottle of wine you can’t afford. You deserve it.

Thursday

Where did the week go? It’s already Thursday and now you can finally start making plans for the weekend.

You skip your lecture and head home early so you can finish off some assignments and maybe get a little extra sleep. You need to prep yourself for the weekend.

Friday

In the words of Rick: it’s Friday biiiitch!

You survived the week and met all your deadlines (well, most of them). Put on some comfy clothes and relax with some pizza, or get dressed up and go get shitfaced. Woo

Saturday

You ignore your alarm and sleep in because it’s Saturday and you finally have nowhere to be. The extra sleep refuels you from the one too many cocktails you had last night (or the one too many Netflix episode you binged).

You make plans to go to a party in the evening and try to ignore the nagging feeling of the test you should be studying for on Monday. But that’s ages away.

Sunday

Well you’ve successfully trashed your liver and now with Monday just a night’s sleep away you’d rather crawl into a hole and die than start the week all over again.

To put your mind at ease you curl up in bed with some tea and Netflix and watch some Rick and Morty. You realise that this world isn’t so bad after all.
