Oh, no! Yet another terribly awkward group task to endure?! Hate to be the one to break it to you, buddy, but that’s just uni life.

Soon enough, you’ll work out that your friends are over hearing you whine about it because a) they aren’t studying right now or b) have their own traumatic stories of deadlines and destruction to survive.

Lucky for you, we’ve got some surefire solutions to make sure you get through to the end, even if it’s done kicking and screaming.

#1 Delegate

Work out what needs to be done, and who’s gonna do it. There’s nothing worse than finding out the person who was gonna create the logo for the project thought they were in charge of refilling the snack bowls.

Talk to the people you’re stuck with (and be nice, cause they’re stuck with you too), find out what your strengths are and what you all enjoy doing. Then y’all can compromise.

#2 Decide On Deadlines

Seems simple enough, but set realistic goals that everyone involved can meet. For instance, don’t expect Karen to be submitting the final draft on behalf of the group the day of her sister’s wedding in Cairns.

Be sure to decide on expectations as a group, so that you can work towards them as a team, and not a one-man show* (*THE ACTUAL WORST).

#3 Create A Facebook Group

In 2017, there’s no better way to keep a constant, clear channel of communication.

You’re definitely not close enough to text, and not quite ready for Whatsapp, so it’s the perfect solution when it comes to a soundboard for ideas. Memes, too. The latter is team-building 101.

#4 Prioritise

Make sure it isn’t just “that group assignment thing”. If you miss the mark because you forgot to set an alarm, or went too hard the night before a planned day of uni work, you might have to bite the bullet with a half-arsed grade to your name.

The only thing worse, really, is when the grade destiny of others rests on whether or not you can stick to your responsibilities and be a good human. Don’t be that guy. Be on top of it.

#5 Do Something That Isn’t Strictly Bizniz

Seems like a wild thought, but you could suggest a drink after class or invite your group mates over for lunch and a study sesh?

Who knows – you might even do something crazy, like make a friend that’ll last way beyond the due date.
